I am Kirsi Hautakangas and animals have filled my entire 50-year life since I was a little girl. Along the way I have encountered many different types of dogs and many breeds. I got my first dog when I was 6 years old, an American Cocker Spaniel named Aku.

In the 1990s I worked in a dog kennel in Denmark and also visited the dog world in the USA. I have bred Shire horses and half-breed show jumping horses on my own farm, Highland Ranch in Soini. Kennel HR´s is an abbreviation for Higland Ranch.

In 2016, I founded Lemmikkihotelli Doggies & Kitties OY, which has now grown to the point where the company has offices in several different locations. Here you can find out more about my working life at Lemmikkihotelli: DOGKIT.FI

I am endlessly interested in dog behavior and have studied the field extensively. The growth and development of puppies is always equally fascinating and extremely interesting. Breeding is a difficult, challenging and sometimes even rewarding sport. The Finnish Kennel Club awarded me the Lauri Vuolasvirta Award for successful breeding activities in 2018. The award was for breeding Brazilian Terriers.

Currently, there are 2 brassies (Ilpo and Moilanen) and 4 testis (Stella, Flick, Sheba and Dani) living at home. You can follow our daily adventures on social media: FACEBOOK and INSTA. The dogs are with me in everyday life, at work, and we enjoy forest walks and dog shows.

Dogs and breeding are my passion and so my whole life is connected to dogs in one way or another. I have been breeding Brazilian Terriers since 2006 and Tenterfield Terriers pawed into my life in 2018.

My breed choices have been easy, because I love dogs that are energetic, people-oriented, and have basic healthy characteristics. And there is no life without a terrier :)

I am an active member of the association and have been the chairman of the Brazilian Terrier - Fox Paulistina - association for several years, currently I am a board member of both the association and the breeding committee. I am also an honorary member of the Brazilian Terrier Association.

I am a member of the Finnish Kennel Club, the Finnish Dog Breeders Association (SUKOKA) and the Finnish Terrier Association. I consider it important that all my breeding work is transparent, ethical and goal-oriented.

The puppies get a safe starting point for their lives here with me and early socialization to different situations is important to me. A special socialization program has been designed for the puppies so that they are as ready as possible to conquer the hearts of their new, own families.

I am ready to support and guide new owners through the challenges of a puppy on their journey to becoming an adult, healthy dog.
